On a Sunday morning during Carnival it was very quite in my corner of Jülich. I had woken up a bit earlier than usual and the weather was OK. A great opportunity to see some birds. On the street just behind my house I met a dunnock.

The bird first eyed me skeptically. But since I made no moves that seemed aggressive to the little, maybe fist-sized bird, it stopped observing and started singing.

It flew a few meters and perched on a much nicer, mossy branch. It lifted its head, sung again and I took the title photo of this entry. I saw many more birds that day. But that's a topic for a future blog...
