This blue tit is not the first bird I took a photo of with the telescope lens. But it is the first I was very happy with. Especially, because the beautiful feather details in the puffed up chest.

This is actually the first bird with the lens I mentioned. I applied a lot of sharpening. And later investigated the lens. My conclusion after a week of tests: the lens was a lot less sharp than it should be. So I sent it back and insisted to get a different one. It took a lot of patience and e-mailing back and forth but the new one was measurably sharper. I was happy and took the title photo a few days later.

Based on the success of the first picture, I tried to find similar ones, like this robin. It was during a little hike I'll write about next.
