Besides the pictures of animals in sunset light I also took some more stylized pictures. I rarely use black and white. But in this case I didn't feel color in the picture contributed much. On the contrary, green in the background distracted from the more muted subject. The other reason was the naturally high contrast of the scene. In my view, black and white can take a much stronger contrast without looking tacky or fake.

One of the architectural features I like about the Gaia zoo, is the giraffe house, which brings the visitors to eye level with the animals. It gave me the opportunity to take this picture of a smirking giraffe. It was probably just chewing. But it's funnier to imagine it thinking "whatchu lookin' at, hu?!". So I tried to support this idea by making the picture contrasty and slightly cool in color.

Also, don't worry, I came back to the Gaia zoo for a longer visit and will show some of those pictures when I get to it.
